About IGC Learning Centre
IGC Learning Centre is a golf instruction and coaching facility located at Innisfail Golf Club in Central Alberta, consisting of certified PGA professionals where tutelage is available for all skill and experience levels. Year-round training is available in an unconditionally positive environment where all ages can access swing coaching, analysis, and mentorship. The training facility exclusively has:
- 14 full-swing hitting stalls (in-season)
- A large undulated practice putting green
- 2 indoor simulator hitting bays (during off-season)
- Foresight GC Hawk, GC Quad and Mevo+ launch monitors
- On-course lessons available (during non-peak times in-season)
All of the staff are continually developing their skills and furthering their education to provide the best service and results for clients that consistently fosters player improvement. The golf facility is fortunate to be hosting the 2024 Canadian Junior National Boys Championship in Mid-August and two Maple Leaf Junior Tour tournaments this season. In the past, the club has served as host to the Alberta Amateur Championship and many other high-level events which simply attests the quality of the training ground at Innisfail Golf Club.

Junior 'Green Machine' Program
Members / Non-Members- This program provides a great opportunity for young children to take their first steps into the game of golf! On-course time will even be available on the last day of the program.

Junior Development Program
Members / Non-Members- For the older child or youth with some prior golf experience. Ideal instruction for competitive young golfers preparing their game for tournament play.

Junior Gamers Camp (Session 1)
Members / Non-Members- For the youngster who wants to learn in a relaxed and fun group environment. Instruction for young golfers looking to learn new golf skills and gain competency in the sport.

Senior 'Skill Refinement' Clinic

Adult 'Learn to Play' Program
Group Program - 1st Session- For the beginner Adult golfer looking to learn how to play the game. Equipment can be provided if necessary. Comprehensive golf instruction in a group setting for all of the different types of shots you may find yourself hitting on the golf course.

Group Program- For the intermediate Adult golfer looking to learn how to master their swing. Designed to prepare a golfer and their swing to transition from the driving range and take their skills to the golf course.

Lessons pricing is uniform for all certified professionals. All of our certified instructors are listed in the bio sections where you can select the appropriate individual and email to co-ordinate an appointment or lesson package. All golf lessons, programs and clinics are designed for moderated student to instructor ratios to ensure they are delivered with the highest of quality standards.

Melissa Perron
PGA of Canada Professional
Specialized in Sport Specific Strength & Conditioning and Ladies Programming
Melissa grew up playing every sport that she could but didn’t start playing golf until she was in college taking Kinesiology. She quickly fell in love with the game and got her first job within the golf industry at the Innisfail Golf Club in 2010. She soon discovered that she wanted to take golf as far as she could and become a golf professional however, still finished college in 2014 in Adapted Physical Education. Shortly after Melissa then pursued her career by acquiring her card in 2017 and obtaining her Class ‘A’ designation in 2020. Through her years in the golf industry, she has found a love for teaching.
A previous role at River Bend Golf and Recreation Area was Junior Coordinator where she had the privilege of teaching not only juniors but also many women how to golf. After being away for 7 years she is very excited to come home to the Innisfail Golf Club where she hopes her career will flourish under great leadership.
Dylan Wood
PGA of Canada Professional
Specialized in Fitting Technology and Player Development
Dylan’s passion for golf runs deep, and he’s dedicated to sharing that love with others. Golf has been in his life for as long as he can remember, though he was most impacted by the game through his participation in the Golf Canada Junior. Following a successful junior career, Dylan moved to Lethbridge to pursue a Bachelor of Management degree with a major in finance, where he played two seasons for the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns. In 2021, he achieved professional status, marking a significant milestone in his golfing journey. Dylan finds joy in all facets of the golf industry, but his true passion lies in leveraging his expertise in the golf swing and club technology to help golfers of all ages and skill levels unlock their full potential. In his free time, Dylan loves spending time with his wife Katrina and their dog Della, playing guitar, and spending time on the golf course with friends.
